Shelly Lopez
Shelly Lopez is an experienced youth worker, trainer, and facilitator. Driven by her passion for literacy and education equity, she takes pride in providing the best services for underserved communities. As the Adopt an Oakland School Coordinator, Shelly’s goals include building community among business partners and schools, providing youth with fun and engaging opportunities, and increasing POC representation.
Before joining the Ed Fund in September 2021, Shelly spent six years as an after-school programs coordinator and educator for a non-profit organization based in Oakland. During her time there, she coordinated programs with an asset-based and trauma-informed approach to provide youth with tools to reach their full potential.
She earned her BA degrees in Sociology and Communication at the University of California, Davis. Currently, Shelly is studying Organizational Development at the University of San Francisco and will graduate with her Master’s degree in 2023.
