Geral Lowe brings a wealth of experience in transforming education environments, with a strong emphasis on mitigating equity disparities among students, while enhancing academic achievement.
With over 13 years of experience in student support practices across various institutions, he is committed to championing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives; while driving positive change that impacts the lives of students and the broader community.
Before joining the Oakland Public Education Fund, Geral spent five years as the Student Services Manager at the University of California, Berkeley. During his tenure there, he developed and maintained partnerships with various school districts and organizations within the San Francisco Bay Area for students to ensure equitable opportunities, access, and sustainable systems were being provided.
Geral demonstrates a strong commitment to community service and advocacy through his extensive volunteer work. He served on the Governing Board of the Community School for Creative Education and has been involved with the Berkeley Staff & Faculty Organization, Greater Sacramento Uran League, Girls on the Rise, and Toastmasters. Geral is a graduate of the University of Phoenix with a BA in Psychology and earned a Masters in Urban Education from Holy Names University.
