• Allendale Elementary: restock the school library with books that reflect current diversity of cultures (average publication date of books was 1992!), including related activities to engage students with holidays and other celebrations. • Franklin Elementary: design and creation of a mural by students to reflect their studies of immigration and water stories, including a visiting artist and "community paint days." • Urban Montessori School: instruments, recording equipment, and a visiting artist to support students to compose and rehearse creative music systems using different percussion styles, voice/poetry, and dance. • Achieve Academy: field trip for three kindergarten classes to visit Aquarium of the Bay and enrich their classroom learning about the ocean. • Parker Elementary: field trip to San Francisco Center for the Book and the American Bookbinder's Museum to invite 5th-grade students to see books in a new way. • Fremont High School: field trip for 50 newcomer students to watch I am Not Your Negro at Oakland's historic Grand Lake Theatre and enrich their study of U.S. racial, cultural, and political history. • Roses in Concrete: materials to launch a new Dungeons & Dragons Club as a fun and interactive way for students to build math, science, reading, social skills, and critical thinking skills after school. • Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary: field trip to the San Francisco Exploratorium, where students can see the STEM principles studied in their classroom brought to life. • Lazear Charter Academy: field trip to and tour of Stanford University to inspire 3rd-grade students to dream big about college. • Skyline High School: books and honorarium for artist in residence working with beginning and intermediate drama students on master classes exploring mass incarceration, state violence, and racial justice.
