If you’re anything like us, you’ve got plenty of reasons to cheer for the Warriors, but here’s one more anyway: through their Hoops for Kids program, each Warriors three-point basket this regular season means $500 for eight Bay Area nonprofits that work to create great outcomes for kids, including the Oakland Public Education Fund!
Thanks to PG&E, the Koret Foundation and Taube Philanthropies, our team’s success is now our community’s success. We’re honored to be included alongside Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco and Oakland, East Oakland Youth Development Center, Playworks, Safe Passages, Education Outside, and Techbridge Girls.
On top of that per-basket donation, at the February 23 game against the Houston Rockets, the Warriors also held a special 50/50 raffle that split the pot between us and a lucky fan. It was the highest-grossing raffle yet of the season (nearly $17K!), and the funds will help us continue growing programs like our A to Z Fund mini-grants for educators.
Thank you, Golden State Warriors, for being true champions of the community!
